There are two ways to change what a family pays. Change a plan's price for every student on it, or move one student to another plan. This article covers both. To create a plan, see Billing Plans. To enroll a student, pause or end an enrollment, see Enrollments and Pauses.
Owners and admins make these changes. They work on every Trio plan.
The old enrollment ends the day before the Effective Date, and the new enrollment starts on it. The student's other enrollments do not change. A pause stays with the old enrollment, so pause the new one again if you need to.
Invoices already made do not change. After that:
Trio sends the family no notice of a plan change, so tell them yourself.
Edit Billing Plan shows how many active enrollments use the plan. The new amount applies from the next billing run. On a per-lesson plan, lessons taught before the change that are not yet billed also bill at the new amount. Invoices already made keep the old amount. The plan type cannot change.
The plan sets the lesson length: 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. In the lesson form, a lesson on a plan shows the plan's length and "Set by plan". To change a student's lesson length, move the student to a plan with the new length. New lessons on that plan take its length.
Lessons already on the calendar keep their length. To change a series, edit it and choose the new plan under Billing. See Recurring lessons.
To give one family a lower rate, such as a sibling discount, make a plan with that rate, for example "Piano 30 min - sibling". Then move the student to it. Each plan has its own price, so a separate plan is how you give a family a special rate.
The Plans tab shows only active plans at first. Set the status filter to Archived or All first: the search box looks only at the plans the filter shows.
Tell families before a price change. To send one message to many families, see Group Messages. For a price change at the start of a school year, see Starting a New School Year.
