An online lesson is a private lesson with a meeting link. This article covers the link: how to add it, change it, and where you and the family join. To schedule, move or cancel a lesson, see Managing Lessons.
Online lessons are on every plan. Owners, admins, teachers and staff can add a link when they schedule or edit a lesson.
An online lesson has no place: when you turn on Virtual lesson, the form clears and hides Location and Room.
To make a new series online, turn on Virtual lesson in the Schedule Lesson form when you add the recurrence. Every lesson that Trio makes for the series gets the link.
To add or change the link on a series that already exists:
Trio puts the link on the lesson you opened, on every later scheduled lesson, and on every lesson it makes later. Earlier lessons stay as they are. To change the link on one lesson only, choose Edit this instance only in step 2.
Online lessons are private lessons. The group class form has no Virtual lesson switch, so a group class meets in person. See Group Lessons.
Click the lesson on the Calendar or on your Dashboard. The lesson panel shows a Virtual Lesson card with:
The card shows at any time, so you can open the meeting early.
In the parent portal, an online lesson has a Virtual label on the family's Schedule and on their dashboard. The join button, for example Join via Zoom, shows from 15 minutes before the lesson starts until 4 hours after it ends. Before that, the Schedule shows "Join link opens 15 minutes before your lesson". On the Schedule, your notes for joining show under the button.
Lesson reminders by email, text and push include the link. For the family's steps, see Joining an Online Lesson.
