This article covers your invitation to Trio and the welcome steps you see the first time you sign in. To sign in again later, see Signing In to Trio.
Your invitation
Your studio sends your invitation by email, to the email address the studio has for you.
- You are new to Trio. The email has a link. Tap it, and Trio signs you in and opens your studio. If the link takes you to the sign-in page instead, sign in there with the email address the invitation went to. Trio finds your invitation and opens your studio.
- You already use Trio, for example with another studio. The email subject starts with "You've been invited to" and names the studio. Tap Accept invitation in the email. On the page that opens, tap Accept invitation if you are signed in. If you are not, tap Email me a sign-in link, then open that email on the same device and tap its link. Then tap Accept invitation.
An invitation is good for 7 days. If the page says This invitation has expired, ask your studio to send a new one. A new invitation is good for another 7 days.
The welcome steps
The first time you open Trio, the welcome steps open by themselves. Each adult on a family account goes through their own steps and confirms only their own details. The steps are, in this order:
- Confirm your profile. Check your first and last name. Fix them and tap Save & continue, or tap Skip - looks right when they are correct.
- Confirm your roster. You see the children Trio lists for you. Tap Yes, that's right. If something is wrong, tap Something's wrong, type what to change, and tap Send. Trio sends your note to your studio as a message.
- Add your phone number. This step shows only when Trio has no phone number for you. Type your number and tick the box to agree to get texts. Then tap Send code, type the code Trio texts you, and tap Verify & continue. Or tap Skip.
- Add Trio to your Home Screen (iPhone) or Install Trio (Android). This step shows only when your device can add Trio to the home screen. See Add Trio to Your Home Screen and Turn On Notifications.
- Notification preferences. Turn email, text and push on or off, then tap Save & continue (Save & done when this is the last step).
- Add a payment method. This step shows only when your studio takes online payments. Add a card and tap Done. Enable autopay for invoices when due is ticked, so Trio pays each invoice with this card on its due date, or the number of days before it that your studio sets. Clear the box to pay each invoice yourself.
Skip the welcome steps
To stop, tap the X at the top. Trio asks Skip setup? Tap Skip setup to close the steps. The welcome steps do not come back, and if you close Trio during the steps, they do not come back either. You can do each step later:
A student with their own login
A student who signs in with their own login sees fewer steps: no roster step and no payment step. See Family Members, More Children and Student Logins.
More than one studio
When you belong to more than one studio, Trio shows Select a studio after you sign in. Each studio shows its own welcome steps the first time you open it. See Family Members, More Children and Student Logins.
