This article covers how to put Trio on your phone's home screen and how to allow push notifications on your device. For the switches on the settings page, the device list, Send test and Remove, see Notification & Communication Settings.
Trio opens in your phone's web browser. You do not need an app store. When you add Trio to your home screen, it gets its own icon and opens like an app, in its own window.
On iPhone, Trio shows a banner with these steps at the bottom of the screen until you close it. The welcome steps also show them on Add Trio to your Home Screen. Most iPads show no banner and no welcome step for this. Use the same steps on an iPad.
When your browser can install Trio, tap Install Trio. You see it in the welcome steps, and on the notification settings page when your browser needs Trio installed for notifications. You can also use your browser's menu to install Trio or add it to your home screen.
On iPhone and iPad, push notifications work only in Trio from your home screen. In a Safari tab, the page shows Add Trio to your home screen to enable notifications. Add Trio to your home screen first, open it from there, and then turn on notifications.
In Trio from your home screen, Trio can also ask you with Turn on push notifications. Tap Enable, or tap Not now to close it.
Push notifications are for each device. Turn them on on each phone, tablet or computer where you want them.
If the page shows Notifications are blocked, you said no to notifications for Trio before. To fix it:
On iPhone and iPad, find Trio in the Settings app, under Notifications.
In Trio from your home screen, the sign-in page has Send code, not a link. Trio emails you a 6-digit code. Type the code in Trio to sign in. See Signing In to Trio.
