You sign in to Trio without a password. This article covers each way to sign in, including with a passkey. To add, rename or remove a passkey, see the Faster sign-in card in My Profile.
Sign in with your email
- On the sign-in page, type your email.
- Click Send magic link. Trio shows Check your email.
- Open the email from Trio and click the link. Trio signs you in.
Open the link in the same browser where you asked for it. A link opened in a different browser or on a different device does not sign you in.
If you added Trio to your home screen, the button is Send code. Trio emails you a 6-digit code. Type the code in Trio to finish. See Trio on Your Phone.
Sign in with a text code
A text code works only with a phone number that you verified in Trio. To verify a number, use Add phone number on My Profile.
- Click Log in via SMS instead. If Trio remembers your email and no phone, click Not you? first.
- Type your mobile number and click Send verification code.
- Trio texts you a 6-digit code. Type it and click Verify.
To go back to email, click Log in via email instead.
Remember me
Tick Remember me before you send the link or code. Trio then keeps your email or phone number, and the method you used last, on this device, and shows them first next time. Click Not you? to clear them. Do not tick the box on a shared computer.
The home-screen app always remembers you, so it does not show this box.
Sign in with a passkey
A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, your face or your device PIN, for example Touch ID, Face ID or Windows Hello.
- Add a passkey. Open My Profile. In the Faster sign-in card, click Add a passkey and follow your device's prompt. Each passkey shows with Rename and Remove.
- The sign-in prompt. After you sign in with a link or a code, Trio can show Set up faster sign-in?. It shows only when your browser supports passkeys and you have no passkey. Click Set up faster sign-in to add one now. Remind me later asks again at your next sign-in. Don't ask again stops the prompt on this device.
- Sign in. On the sign-in page, click Sign in with a passkey. This button shows only when your browser supports passkeys.
You can always still sign in with an email link or a text code.
If the link or code does not arrive
- Check the address. Click Use a different email and type it again. If Trio has no account for the email, it says "No account found for this email."
- Check your spam or junk folder for the email from Trio.
- Ask for a new link. A link works one time only and expires after a short time. If an old link shows "Authentication failed. Please try again.", send a new one.
- "No studio found." This page shows when your sign-in is not linked to a studio, for example a phone number that is not on your Trio account. Click Sign in with email, or ask your studio owner for an invitation.
More than one studio
If you work in more than one studio, Trio asks you to choose one. See Working in More Than One Studio.
