Engagement

The Engagement page answers one question: who needs a nudge this week? It brings practice, attendance, and family activity together for every active student on your roster, sorted so the students who most need attention are at the top. You can also reach it from the Practicing this week tile on your dashboard.

How students are scored

Every student gets a Strong, Fair, or Low badge:

  • Low - the student has gone quiet: no practice logged in the last 7 days. Practicing exactly 7 days ago still counts as recent; 8 days ago does not.
  • Strong - the student is not quiet and meets both of these: at least 3 distinct practice days this week, and attendance of 90% or higher over the last 30 days.
  • Fair - everything in between.

Two details worth knowing:

  • Strong requires both conditions. A student with six practice days this week but 80% attendance is Fair, not Strong.
  • The badge's attendance test always uses the fixed 30-day window, whatever the range toggle shows. A student with no attendance records in the last 30 days has no attendance percentage and cannot be Strong.

The table lists Low first, then Fair, then Strong. Click a row to open that student's practice tab.

The range toggle

The This week / Last 30 days toggle changes only two columns: Min (practice minutes) and Attendance. It deliberately does not change the KPI tiles, the badges, the row order, or the week dots - those all use fixed windows so the picture stays comparable. If flipping the toggle doesn't move a badge, that is by design, not a bug.

Family activity

The Last active column shows when anyone in the family last used Trio - signing in or simply using the app while signed in both count. It reads Today, Yesterday, or N days ago.

  • A family is flagged inactive when more than 14 days have passed since their last activity; exactly 14 days ago still counts as active.
  • Never means the family set up a Trio account but has no recorded activity yet.
  • No account yet means the family has not finished setting up their Trio account. That is an onboarding gap, not disengagement, so these families are left out of the Families active count and the Family inactive card rows - they appear only as a "haven't set up Trio yet" count.

Because activity is measured from sign-ins and app use, it is a measure of use, not a precise "last seen" time - a family that opened their invite once and never came back can still read as active for up to 14 days.

KPI tiles and needs-attention cards

Four tiles summarize the roster, each on a fixed window: Practicing this week (students who logged practice since Monday), Went quiet (no practice in the last 7 days), Avg attendance (last 30 days), and Families active (families with a Trio account that used it within 14 days).

Below the tiles, two cards preview who needs attention: Went quiet lists quiet students with their last practice date, and Family inactive lists families past the 14-day threshold, most-stale first ("Never" first, then oldest). Each card shows up to 3 rows and hands the rest off to the table below.
