Resources - Lesson Notes, Repertoire & Materials

By Trio Team · Updated

Resources is one place for everything your teacher shares with your family. It is always in your menu - you do not have to wait for your teacher to add anything first. The page has three tabs.

Lesson Notes

The Lesson Notes tab shows the notes your teacher completed and shared after lessons. Only shared notes appear; drafts and private notes stay with the teacher. Use the student filter chips to focus on one child. For the full detail - how sharing works and how you are told about a new note - see Messaging Your Teacher & Shared Lesson Notes.

Repertoire

The Repertoire tab shows the pieces your teacher assigned, grouped by student into Currently working on, Set aside, and Completed. Open a piece to read its details and grab any sheet music or recording your teacher attached to it. For the full detail, see Your Assigned Repertoire.

Materials

The Materials tab is a single, searchable library of every file and link your teacher shared with your family - across lesson notes, your pieces, practice, events, and messages. It is read-only: your teacher adds the items, and you open them here.

Search and filter

  • Search the box at the top matches a file's name and the label of where it came from, so a word from either finds it.
  • Type filters narrow the list to PDFs, Audio, Video, or Links. Images and any other file types are not their own filter - they show under All.

Grouped by where it came from

Materials groups items under a heading for each source, in this order:

  1. From your lessons - files attached to a shared lesson note.
  2. Student files - files your teacher shared from a student's profile.
  3. Your pieces - files your teacher added to an assigned piece on the Repertoire tab.
  4. Practice assignments - files attached to a practice assignment.
  5. Practice items - files attached to a single practice item.
  6. Events - files attached to a published event.
  7. Shared in messages - files your teacher sent in a conversation.

A heading appears only when it has at least one item, so you see just the sources that apply to your family.

Opening a file or link

Tap any item to open it in a new tab - a file downloads or previews, a link opens the site. If an item shows Unavailable and does not open, Trio cannot reach that file right now; check back later or ask your studio.

What you will not find here

  • Materials shows only what your teacher shared. Files you upload yourself in a message stay in that conversation and are not collected here.
  • Sheet music attached to a piece in the studio's library opens from that piece's detail page on the Repertoire tab, not in Materials. The Your pieces group in Materials holds files your teacher added directly to your student's assigned piece.
  • If you sign in with a student account rather than a parent account, you see only that student's own files.

Empty states

If your teacher has not shared anything yet, Materials says so ("No resources shared yet"). If a search or filter matches nothing, it tells you to try a different search or filter.

Materials vs. family documents

Materials and family documents move files in opposite directions:

  • Materials are files your teacher shares with your family - sheet music, recordings, references.
  • Family documents are files your family uploads for the studio - waivers, forms, and the like. They live on your family profile, where any parent or guardian on the account can add or remove them.
